Transforming Yourself Through Your Work

When we are faced with a difficult boss or a monotonous job, we find ourselves complaining rather than getting down to the root of the issue. Robert Greene, American author and speaker, tells us in this engrossing 18-minute TED talk that the key to change lies within ourselves.

Greene went through the process of experiencing more than 50 jobs over several years ranging from journalist to construction worker before he could write a bestselling book, The 48 Laws of Power. Greene realized that all the apparently random jobs he undertook over the years had incrementally added to his skills and built a huge reserve of rich experiences. These small increments in totality gave him the skill and confidence to write the book.
